There’s something heartwarming about vintage Christmas illustrations, isn’t there? They remind us of simpler times, cosy holidays, and the magic of childhood wonder. This year, I’ve found some true gems from classic children’s books that will bring extra joy to your holiday season.

I’m so excited to share some enchanting artwork from two beautiful vintage books—one Polish and the other Dutch! The Polish gem is Zochna w krainie śnieżek: Przygody wierszem (Zochna in the Land of Snowballs) by the talented Sibylle von Olfers.

The Dutch treasure is Dat heerlijke kerstfeest (That Wonderful Christmas), a charming children’s Christmas picture book. These illustrations are packed with nostalgic charm, perfect for adding a vintage touch to your holiday crafts or decor or just enjoying their timeless beauty. And the best part? You can download them all for free!

Celebrating Dat heerlijke kerstfeest

Vintage Children’s Christmas illustrations from the Dutch book That Wonderful Christmas. The illustrations burst with festive scenes—think family gatherings, sparkling trees, and joyous celebrations. The vibrant colours and delightful compositions make these illustrations perfect for holiday crafts or nostalgic decor. They are by the Austrian artist Pauli Ebner.

This children’s picture book was published in 1910, giving the illustrations a Christmas Art Nouveau vibe.
