There’s something heartwarming about vintage Christmas illustrations, isn’t there? They remind us of simpler times, cosy holidays, and the magic of childhood wonder. This year, I’ve found some true gems from classic children’s books that will bring extra joy to your holiday season.
I’m so excited to share some enchanting artwork from two beautiful vintage books—one Polish and the other Dutch! The Polish gem is Zochna w krainie śnieżek: Przygody wierszem (Zochna in the Land of Snowballs) by the talented Sibylle von Olfers.
The Dutch treasure is Dat heerlijke kerstfeest (That Wonderful Christmas), a charming children’s Christmas picture book. These illustrations are packed with nostalgic charm, perfect for adding a vintage touch to your holiday crafts or decor or just enjoying their timeless beauty. And the best part? You can download them all for free!

Print 2: Zochna’s Introduction To Snowballs
The verse in the book starts: “Winter is roaring, frosty winter, For the faithful to his mistress are begging for white snow! Frost is on guard – It keeps the river tethered, It is afraid of the sun’s glare, It pinches everyone’s ears! Everything turns to ice!“
“They greeted her joyfully, The wind rushes them, swift-legged, Each one nods her head… It does not allow her to rest.”
